Welcome to the Kuwait Board of Emergency Medicine

Here you will find information about our vibrant program including our faculty, residents, and most recent events. KBEM was founded in 2011 as part of the Kuwaiti Institute for Medical Specializations (KIMS) and started with only four residents.

Today there are a total of 20 residents in our growing program, with many of our senior academic clinicians having been with us from the very beginning.

Our residents experience five years of intense academic, didactic, clinical and research training.  We provide our residents every opportunity to obtain a well-rounded educational experience with an emphasis on clinical skills taught under the supervision of board certified emergency physicians.  Each academic year will include rotations in different adult and pediatric emergency departments divided between Kuwaits six public hospitals, in addition to rotations in internal medicine, surgery, intensive care, and many more.
